America needs Israel. 

 

This statement might sound like it should be the other way around, that Israel needs America. But as it pertains to the kingdom of God, Israel is the apple of the Lord’s eye and Jerusalem is the city of the king (I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse those who curse you).

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

As we pray for Jerusalem and Israel in this season, we at ESI are grateful for the kingdom relationships that we have for those who continue to pray for us, as we labor together in the work of the Kingdom.

We are also grateful for those who give regularly and those who are sensing at this time to make a special gift for Israel at this time. Your gift is a real relief, and we will make sure that every shekel gets to the work in Israel.

Terry Lee King Obituary

Terry Lee King, 74, of Boonsboro, MD, passed away on Friday, January 2, 2025. Though Terry lived with Parkinson’s Disease, he often said “I may have Parkinson’s, but Parkinsons does not define who I am. I am running my own race.”

Born on September 26, 1951, in Santa Monica, CA, he was the son of the late Carl King and Ellen (Burgdorf) King.

Terry was an accomplished person, in academics, career, family, and social life. Terry had 5 degrees from different universities, those being Ministerial from Zion Bible College, BA in Christian Education from Antietam Bible College, MA in Intercultural Communications from Wheaton Graduate School, MA in Human Resources Leadership from Azusa Pacific University, and Dr. of Ministry from Vision International University. He was the former Executive Officer and board member of Greater Hagerstown Committee, and a former member of Rotary Club in Hagerstown. He was a pastor of 11 years at Faith Chapel and 11 years at Bridge of Life. Terry served as a trainer, leadership coach, mentor, college instructor, pastor, conference and seminar speaker, college instructor, and academic dean.

Roeh Todd Westphal

Was ordained in 1993 and has a degree from Messiah Biblical Institute and attended East Coast Bible College. As a six-year U.S. Navy Veteran, Todd was able to travel the world. Todd has been serving as the Senior Leader of El Shaddai Congregation of Frederick, Maryland for 22 years and is the Executive Director for El Shaddai International. Todd has a passion for individuals and communities to be equipped and released into who the Lord has created them to be. Todd is a counselor and connector, connecting Kingdom hearts for the work of the Lord. In addition to his other roles, he serves on the Tikkun International Board and the Tikkun America, American Apostolic Team. Todd and his lovely wife, Deborah, have been married for over 35 years and reside in the Frederick, MD area.

Stephen Guice

Dr. Stephen Guice was born in Detroit, Michigan, the sixth and last child of University Professors. He came to faith dramatically at University in 1974. He married Marie Beson in 1981 and they had nine children and lived in eight states and six countries as he was a Professor of Linguistics and then a U.S. diplomat.  Stephen was the last Director of Messiah Biblical Institute - the Tikkun University. After Marie’s death in 2017 he married Pamela Briner in 2019. Since 2018 he has been a member of El Shaddai Congregation. He has served in leadership in Congregations and in the State Department. Together they have 15 children and are expecting their 27th grandchild. They live in Kearneysville, West Virginia.

Jerry Miller

He is a Messianic Jew who came to faith in Yeshua (Jesus) in 1975. He and his wife Jo have served in the Messianic movement for over forty years, including almost thirty years leading congregations in Maryland and Florida. Over the years, Jerry and Jo have ministered in the USA and internationally, teaching in congregations, Bible schools and other settings. They have a passion for raising up the next generations, and much of their focus now is on equipping younger leaders for life and ministry, working with Tikkun America and El Shaddai International. Jerry and Jo have been married for more than 44 years and have two daughters and five grandchildren.

Terry served as a trainer, leadership coach, mentor, college instructor, pastor, conference and seminar speaker, college instructor, and academic dean. He lived in Zimbabwe and the Philippines, where he served as a missionary and Bible school teacher. He was the founder of the Living Waters church in Africa. Terry’s teaching and equipping calling took him across the United States, 41 countries, and six continents.

Terry loved people. He loved to see them smile. He had great humor and a heart of gold. He would call people on their birthdays just to say happy birthday. He would travel to those who needed encouragement. Terry was always looking for ways to help people find their calling and purpose in life. He loved life, his sons, family, wife, and granddaughter.

Terry is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Linda King; two sons, Philip King and wife, Keri, and Jonathan King and wife, Jennifer; one granddaughter, Ava King; brothers, Jerry King, Mike King (Kathy), Pat King (Judy), David King, and Richard King; and sister, Sandy Hall (Bob).

Graveside service will be held on Friday, January 16, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Rest Haven Cemetery, 1601 Pennsylvania Avenue, Hagerstown, MD 21742. Terry’s Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Hope Community Church 6867 Hedgesville Rd, Hedgesville, WV 25427, with Pastor Chris Jones officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Terry to Alliance International Ministries.
